As long as you have a double rod you can add another layer of drape. The lace curtain on one and a grommet drape on the other. The grommet drape is easy to close and you can close only one side if you need to.
Ah, a triple window treatment. I have that on a couple of my windows too but for different reasons. Install a double rod for the lace curtains and room darkening drapes and leave the mini blinds in place.
Yes, you can. Several ways to do it. Usually they go over the sheer lace allowing the lace remained closed for some light while the darkening ones are open for the day time, closed at night. For your situation, I'd buy new mini-blinds.. Unless you really want drapery. Some are metal, they keep out more light. Openings are smaller on better quality ones or custom. Some are listed as room darkening, others as light filtering..
Use contrast colour to the back of the lace otherwise you will loose the effect. You can buy Blackout fabric..................
What ever you want to do. I think that would look amazing!!! If you sew you could even sew the lace right to them and only have to have one rod. I'm sure there are black out curtains that are rod pockets and not just the grommet kind.
try a damask, you get a lace look and a climate control at the same time
I'd go with a print black-out curtain with the lace cover. I love that mental image. The tie-backs could be ribbons.
