Blank corner space above tv...

I have a 'corner' stand (white with slatted door fronts), and the flat screen sits on top. Above the tv, which rises to the wall area at about 4.5 feet, with blank walls to a 9 foot ceiling (corner, 90 degree angle)icon . The left wall is roughly 50 inches, and right wall about 40 inches. I don't know what to do with the space above the tv and the ceiling! I want to keep it simple, but something more interesting than what I call a big blank space. I have searched the internet (specifically those furniture places that sell corner units), but I can't find one that shows what happens above the tv.... Any suggestions will be graciously accepted! Thanks!

A tall plant, even a smaller one set on a box would work, depending on light and access to water it. You could add "up lighting" to add drama much like they do outside on shrubs. A folding screen is another option. Possible to use shutters to match the other decor of the stand. You see them with photo spaces. You could also do triangle shelving with brackets .. Wood, moulding for the edges, and the brackets.

A friend has a plasma cutter and cuts out designs in sheet metal. That would look nice, be simple and easy to clean.

Valance Pelmet -Have you thought about hanging one across the corner. Or forming a closed in cabinet , or forming a shelf like a fireplace using large corbels and using it for statue or sculpture..............

Hello, I would simply decorate the walls. Since the stand is white w/ slats I'd go with that for a starting point. Decorating anything, especially a wall shows "your personality". A simple white shelf would tie in w/ the stand. Large medium, small. Depends on the size of the furniture under the wall accessories & the look you want. Without seeing the space it's hard for me to tell you sizes. Some people like just one large item. Like a pretty, round, white framed mirror to add some depth. I personally would have a white shelf & a white framed mirror (round, square or rectangle). I would pull colors from the room for the shelf accents. If you like simple and clean... perhaps a clear vase with just a few colored flowers... lets say teal flowers. You could center the mirror over the shelf or off center... I'd just be sure the flowers reflected up into the mirror for more interest and depth. I would add some smaller accents around the mirror & shelf. Ok, let's say you want a nautical theme... go w/ a lighthouse with same teal color, maybe some white seagulls. Or say you are going with a more country feel... so maybe a whitewashed (or leave grey) barn-wood picture frame w/ a country theme picture in it with the some of same colors as your chosen theme color. I would continue the same theme unto the other wall. There are NO rules in decorating! It's all about what you like, BUT there are rules of thumb to make things look more pleasing & tied together. 1. Keep items low and close together. You want to keep the height of the ceiling so the room looks bigger. Your bottom piece lets say the shelf should stay as close to the tv as possible say 6 to 8 inches away. The mirror should stay close to the shelf, say 3" at the most. You may want candlesticks reflecting up into it etc. Incorporate as many dimensional item as possible (you have two nice size walls to work with). 2. White adds organization, black adds drama, brass adds sunshine, greenery/flowers adds life, mirrors add depth, candlelight adds interest (even the battery candles are better the none), wood adds warmth. 3. Keep odd numbers of accessories 3,5,7 they are much more pleasing to look at. 4. Anchor, anchor, anchor, wall accessories need to be anchored over the bigger pieces of furniture. If it turns into a gallery wall and you run out of room simply place a large plant or small table, even floor pillows would work to continue the grouping over. Anyway, for heavens sake put something up there so you aren't so bored! LOL Hope this helps. Hobby Lobby is a Great place to find really cute and reasonably priced decor in the latest popular colors & themes. You could probably even find a corner shelf and build out from either side of it. Oh yes I use small white paneling nails placed at a 45 degree angle, that way the wall is supporting the weight and not the nail. For lighter weight I use the smallest nails I have. Good Luck, Be Brave! Basket weaver table grouping, Story Teller corner grouping, garage door needed something.... my Papa's hat, bull whip & tiny holsters looks better in person with out the glare. As you can see I have a Southwest theme in my family room. I had better wall pictures but I lost them all in a computer crash :(

This website may give you some ideas: https://www.homedit.com/corner-tv-placements/ Instead of an actual built-in, I would install white corner shelves the same dimensions as your TV stand, and maybe connect the TV stand and the shelves with vertical moulding for a built in look. Judiciously decorate the shelves and it should look great.

One of those huge round clocks with Roman numerals in the place of the numbers (as big as the space is) would look great. I've seen them at Lowes.
