Doesn't the store you purchased this from know anything about their product?

Hard to tell how the rabbit was applied. My instinct is oriental descent looking at staining. But the feet and barley twist look on trim looks American!

Looks like it is a one of a kind piece. Lots of artisans around that can do beautiful work.

It is difficult to tell from the one picture how old and from which part of the world it came. Are the hinges and nails made of iron or steel? Are the drawers connected by dovetails or nails? Are the carved corners perfectly the same (machine carved) or have slight differences?

When you say it was purchased at an upscale store where you purchased it or an antique shop? I am a collector of antique furniture that’s why am asking .

not at an antique shop. this was an upscale furniture consignment store. (the manager did not know the story of the piece or its previous owner.)

Look for manufacturer labels. If there is a paper label adhered to back or bottom of piece. This will tel you if it was made before the start of machine made furniture or not.
