Growing mint plant - can it survive winter Zone 5?

I want to grow mint in a large plastic pot that I have purchased. Will it die off in cold winter zone 5 or come back next summer.

I have mint planted in a plastic pot in zone 6. Never do anything to it and it comes back every year. It's certainly worth a try!
Hi Susie. It should be fine to keep in a pot as a perennial. Some people do this instead of putting them in a garden because it spreads so much.
Mint is a prolific spreader, it'll keep coming back forever, even in cold zones. I live in Colorado and it'll pop up everywhere,
Nothing can kill it! Lol
