Miter saw or table saw ???

For several years, any wood working items that needed to be sawed, I had to use my dad's old circular saw that weights a ton, or another of dad's saws, an old jig saw, or just plain old saws that go back and forth with your arms getting dead tired. I built am 8 x 8 foot shed with these tools and I wished then, and still do, want newer saws for this summers projects... which are many.

I have watched numerous videos at you tube on miter saw vs table saw, and I still can't figure out which would better suit me. I will be building privacy screens using lattice and 1 x 4's, and decorative lighting that uses 4 x 4's, and also several raised garden beds, & replacing some 1 x 6 cedar boards on my front porch and the 4 x 4's that separate my yard from my driveway need to have another row of 4 x 4's on top of the existing ones. That's just a few of my list of projects. I believe that neither a miter saw or a table saw will cut completely thru a 4 x 4...
correct? I assume that one would cut thru the depth of it's possibility and then have to turn the board over and finish cutting thru to the cut. Correct? I am a poor person, so just buying either of the miter or table saws is a big expense for me, so I can not buy both, but wish I could. Any help is very much appreciated.
Oh... I am a 66 year old woman who loves building things!

For what you describe a miter saw would be well suited. More control and accuracy. Easier to work with. A table saw would be generally use for cutting flat panels plus smaller cuts but needs jigs and accessories to do that. Has a learning curve.

Get a mitre saw. You can get a large one or a small one. Kobalt makes a nice small one, it’s light and easy to use for small jobs.
