no .....you must use potting soil.garden soil is strictly for vegetables
Everything that I have read says no. Garden soil is supposedly too heavy for use in potted plants. It's best to use potting soil because it is formulated to be used in pots. It costs more but in the long run your potted plants will be happier. I supposed you could use garden soil if you mixed in some peat moss to make it lighter.
No, garden soil does not have the nutrients needed for potting. Use potting soil.
You absolutely can. I use it every year in my Potted plants and potted vegetables. Wishing you a beautiful garden!
Garden soil not a good option for potting plants will eventually get hard in the pot. Use potting soil.
I would mix dirt with potting soil. You want a soil that's loose. Same reason that you add compost or other supplements to your garden beds or landscape plantings.

Everything says no, but I have done it before with perfectly fine growing plants. No problems for me at all.
