Found this cute side table with a light at the curbside and I had a vision....
I started by removing the dirty ripped shade and sanding the table to remove any shiny varnish.
Then painted a good quality primer on all wooden parts.
After primer was completely dry I painted table with two coats of creamy paint called"coconut milk".
I let that dry completely and distressed it by sanding edges.
I then took apart the broken shade.
I cut my jute twine to four feet long DOUBLE lengths so eight feet long each but doubled.
I attached them to the top section of the broken shade.
18 double strings on rounded outside parts and 20 double strings on middle wider sides (front and back)

I started with three square knott's all the way around. Followed by a row of two square knots unsing alternate strings.
Followed by another row of three s using alternate strings again
I then separated my strings into quarter sections and created my own macrame design adding some pretty beads.
I continued with alternate square knots in twos for five rows.

I then did two alternate rows of three square knots. Then attached the bottom of the shade using a single row of square knots.
I then did another row of two square knots.
Then alternate round knots and trimmed my ends

I found some pretty lace and wove it into the row of three square knots at the top and bottom of shade.
I then finished by adding strings and doing square knots around the wire top of shade and my project is completed

Thanks Wendy, I've been doing Macrame since high school way back in the 70s and still find different ways to incorporate into my crafting/refinishing I made this pretty little baby swing for our ne grandbaby last summer
