Washing machine question

Washing machine dispensing fabric softener around the top of the drum not in the drum. Any suggestions?

Put it in your wash powder drawer instead.

It sounds like a part came loose or came off inside where the dispenser goes into the drum. See if you can find it and repair it. If not, then I'd suggest calling an appliance repair company. Wishing you the best.
Might be clogged, pour some really hot water in it a few times.
I think your softner dispenser might be plugged. I agree with Sharon who says to pour very hot water thru it. I have also used the Downy Ball and it worked well.
