Please follow the directions that the manufacturer recommends. There are likely generic chemicals, cheaper than the ones they want to sell you, but follow the guide.
Look up the manufacturer of your hot tub on line and follow their recommendations. Head over to any pool & spa store or hardware or home improvement center for a full compliment of supplies. These sites will help you out.

email the manufacturer and by the way cheaper is not better..
Not cheap chemicals, Hot Tubs are disease prone.
Bleach! ☺️
Please not bleach! it will ruin your hot tub! Go to Home Depot or Lowe's- they sell chemicals for pools & hot tubs, so does Walmart. You need shock & chlorine tabs. You also need testing strips. If you don't regularly use both & test the water before you get in, you can end up with nasty problems or even chemical burns on your skin.
You could also go to a store that sells hot tubs! Their prices will probably be higher than WalMart's but their knowledge at the hot stub store is worth the extra cost! You are going to put your body into that water... wouldn't you want it to be pure and bacteria free??
