What plants will deter deer?

They do not touch junipers or English lavender. I think those are about the only things they don’t like. Luckily junipers come in all shapes and sizes, so they can be scattered around and look artistic. Sort of Japanese-y. We lined our very long driveway with lavender. Been there years and never eaten. Coral bells are good, too. They use planters as salad bowls but always leave coral bells. For flower beds by the front of the house we got 2 ft. tall wrought iron fencing from a home store. The beds are about 2 feet wide, and it seems they are too narrow for deer to try to get into by jumping them. Even tho they are low and jumpable they stay out and the fencing looks nice. Anything colorful goes there. For planters try geraniums. They seem to leave them as a last resort. They don’t actually eat daffodils or iris, but they pull them up and just leave them lying there. Good luck! I hated junipers until I realized they were one thing I could actually have!

Deer don't like things that poke them, like rose thorns or cacti, and they don't like the "stinky" flowers like geraniums or marigolds, but they will eat them as a last resort.

Daffodils and hellebores are poisonous and deer proof.

Lavender, or any DEER-RESISTANT(key word when searching for plants) variety of a plant.

There is a product called BLOOD MEAL. Deer HATE the smell. (Blood smell?) I read about this in a gardening magazine years ago and no longer remember the company that makes it. Maybe ask at your local guardning center or online.

You have to completely plant all types that the deer don’t like or use Liquid Fence. Do not waste your time with all the home remedies. If you plant one they don’t like they will move on to the one they do like.
