After trading in our very small travel trailer on a larger one, I thought I would make a couple of things for it. The inspiration for this sign is America itself. I had an idea of how I wanted it to look, so I headed to the craft store to get wood stakes and letters.
I started by positioning the stakes how I would glue them together, and trying out the lettering.
The stakes came three to a package and I bought three packages for the sign. Some were cut off to glue to the back to hold it all together.

I glued all the letters to the stakes and cleaned off the extra glue and glue strings with tweezers. I wouldn’t use a glue gun and glue sticks for this step again. Then I took it outside and sprayed it with primer.
When the primer dried I started base coating it with this metallic paint I had on hand, but ideally It would have been much easier to paint it with metallic spray paint, but I didn’t have any. It took three coats.
I also painted on light strokes of these two metallic colors. I really like metallic paints, but I think this sign would be cute painted and antiqued or painted and crackled. Or any variety of ways.
I hope you enjoyed my little travel trailer sign idea. Have a wonderful spring.

Love it.. You did a great job making it to fit your camping experience. I would love to do this myself. Do you mind if I use your post as my inspiration
