white vinegar and water 50/50 and a micro fiber cloth

My black refrigerator has a slight texture to it and I routinely use alcohol as when I use water which has lots of minerals in it, it leaves a whitish residue in the indentations of the texture. Also, be sure to dry it well right after using the alcohol, though most of it will evaporate quickly.

    • I only have black because at the time, black was standard and white "cost extra" and wasn't in stock (imagine that?) So as I replaced the appliances they are now all black. Few months back the original black dishwasher died. On Nextdoor.com, I picked up a halfway decent dishwasher - but stainless. I painted it! But when I do replace it will be with white. I think I am the only person on the planet that does not care for stainless in any way, shape or form.

I agree with with Janice, I tried everything and found that alcohol works great on my black frig and on mirrors and windows!

I just bought a house with a great black refrigerator and now I know how to clean it. Thanks.

I agree. The house I bought 11 years ago has all black appliances. I keep hoping they will die so I can justify "to myself" going stainless....but so far they just keep on working :( That's a good thing, I suppose! :)

Ammonia and water (Windex) and a lint-free cloth will keep your fridge smudge-free. ☺️

I have resisted too, thinking it was a "phase" but it seems to be lasting. Many stainless appliances have differing finishes which make it difficult to decide which product is best for all stainless. Lots of fingerprints show on stainless! :)

Clean with whatever cleaner you use, then rinse, and wipe dry with soft cloth or paper towel. They don't stay clean long.
