If you are any bit crafty, you know how overtly easy it is to collect so much stuff. Seems there are so many uses for all those items that others may pitch into the trash and this leads to "where to organize them for use"? Seems I always need another drawer! REALLY need to purge, but until then...........
First off, I do not like to do alot of sitting when I use the serger since I have alot of back issues as well as problems with my hips. I find that putting my sergers on risers, I can stand while using the serger. Most of the time I am only serger for a very short interval. Maybe to serge a hem or a altered seam allowance, but nothing very detailed and lengthly. I am 74 and not doing alot of sewing from scratch anymore. Anyway, this is the reason I put my sergers on risers at about waist high. It works so well for my needs.

If you want this station to be lower, you can simply put this concept on a lower table.
I made sewing caddies for my sergers but found that no matter how large the scrap bag was, I was constantly needing to empty it. You can see the bag on the right in the picture. I find that since used this set of drawers, I just open the top drawer a tad bit while serging. Than close it when finished. This drawer holds alot of scraps before needing to be cleaned out.
Ok, so now what do I use the smaller scrap bag on the caddy for?

Well duh!   Why not use it for the foot peddle when not in use?  Perfect!  Now I can sweep without the aggrevation of the foot peddle getting in my way.

Ok, the next Idea I had was to slip the manual under the caddy so I could have it handy is needed. I find that I am so forgetful as to where I file them away and it works for much better for me to keep each manual with each machine. I have collected several machines over the years, so I really find this idea super helpful.
The manual can be pulled out when needed without an fuss. I thought about putting it in one of the drawers but since it would seldom need to be used, I would rather use the drawer space for other items. Plus the manual stays fresher.
So, here is the set up. I have two other drawers for items that I want to have handy here at this station.
Snip scissors, needles, tweezers, etc.. I can even stuff the serger cover in a drawer while serging.
This has been a real help for my organization.
