Rustoleum makes spray paint for metal in many different colors. Clean and dry your old hardware well. Spray and let dry overnight. You can poly over the paint for a more durable finish. Down the road you may have to touch it up but the finish seems to last for a few years.

Had the same problem; use hobby paint in those little jars; adhered well. Brush on layers for a clean look
Model making hobby paint!
Krylon. It works great. Best way to paint is to remove the hardware. Take a piece of cardboard and make holes to mount the hardware then paint. Krylon is best painted in several light coats. It dries fast but allow extra time for the final coat..
Perhaps the most important consideration is that you must use paint made for use on metal. Then you want to use sandpaper to scuff up the hardware. Don’t scratch it to the point that you’ see the scratches after you paint.
Take it off - Clean it and then apply a Lacquer to the Brass to prevent tarnish in future........
My pleasure........
