Tons of plastic grocery bags - what to do?!

My mom bought a moderately priced small ottoman. When I unzipped it to clean the cover I found it was stuffed tight with ALL plastic grocery bags! I MEVER would’ve known!!!!!!

    Our town swap shop has a bin for these. . . for people to use in picking up after their dogs.

    If you aren't reusing them, some grocery stores recycle them and the Walmart's here also recycle them.

    Sounds like you need to re-stuff the ottoman with something, I would recommend a foam cushion for that part.

    As for the plastic bags, you can actually iron plastic bags together to make a fabric out of them. You would need to place a piece parchment paper down on the ironing board, then the plastic bags on top of each other, then another piece of parchment paper, then a thin towel. Then you iron them together. Then you can use them to make other projects with....... I have used the plastic fabric to wrap foam cushions prior to upholstering a piece of furniture. This keeps any water from seeping into the cushions. I have also used the plastic fabric for make-do covers for lining in baby changing pads and linings in other fabric crafts.
