- Dysko7710on Apr 8, 2018You could build a barn door to go over it, that would be fun and unique, here are some tutorials:https://www.remodelaholic.com/cheap-easy-diy-barn-door/http://blog.jennasuedesign.com/2016/04/diy-barn-door-plans-tutorial/HelpfulReply
- Gkon Apr 8, 2018You can order custom sized bifold doors at Menards.HelpfulReply
- Lina Splichalon Apr 8, 2018If you want to keep the width available you can look for a sliding door that will fit the width and add hinges and braces on the back. You can change to bi-fold doors. You can purchase the widest door you can find and add a board wide enough to fill the gap ( this will also probably need braces on the back. You can build your own door using beadboard or plywood with a wooden frame. You can build a frame to fit the opening and cover the middle with fabric. You can add boards to the opening to fit the replacement door. Good luck.HelpfulReply
- Kelly Denoyer Russellon Apr 8, 2018Cut down solid doors. We needed a short door for under a staircase so we got one and cut to size.HelpfulReply
- Sharonon Apr 8, 2018Just buy the 36" bifold doors, pull off the door trim and then fir out each side with 1 1/2" lumber to narrow the opening to 36" and put a wider molding over the exposed edge. or have a custom door made.HelpfulReply
