You can use a tube of DAP. It’s sort of toothpaste shaped and DAP is easy to work with. Just make sure the surfaces you are putting The silicone on are clean and free of any old caulking Material.

Yes. You can buy chalk in a squeeze tube that is specially made for damp locations. What I have is brand name is 'DAP'. There are probably other brands.
You can get the caulk in tubes, it is just easier with the caulking gun to get it on even.
Use the caulk in the plastic tubes which work much like a toothpaste tube.
