  • Of course not! Did you Google first or talk to anyone at the home improvement center? I bet you didn't! Now you are on your way to becoming an expert! Score and steam is the way to go, especially in a dry location like Arizona! Rent a steamer from Home Depot or any local tool rental. Score score score, the more steam gets in the easier to remove. This site will provide you with details!

A photo of what is left would be helpful but here are the 2 situations I can imagine. First, if what you have left is just the wallpaper paste, grab a spray bottle of vinegar and water and a sponge. Spraying the wall with this solution, along with a little elbow grease and the paste will come off. When you think you have it all, rinse and dry and give it another look. It might take a couple times to get it totally clean. If you still have the paper backing from the wallpaper left, use the same solution of vinegar and water and spray the paper backing to saturate. Use a paint scraper or razor scraper to remove the paper backing. It may start to come off in sheets or you may have to work for it. With wallpaper there is no super easy solution for removal. You may also try a steamer which can usually be rented at a tool rental place. My experience however, is that either way it's gonna take some elbow grease!

Hi Diane. I would wash the walls down with Diff to remove any of the left glue. When this happened to me I then used drywall compound to get the bad areas to blend with the part of the walls that were ok. I had to do a few coats sanding in between. When I painted I added a little sand for texture. You can also purchase special texture paint. It is in between a compound and paint. I wish you luck. I know it is not fun.

I have a great solution for you----- it really works! Fill a bucket with warm water and add 1 cup of liquid fabric softener. Wipe it on the wall paper. Let sit for about 10 minutes. The paper should peel right off!

First you need a Hazmat suit! Just kidding. But if I had to remove a popcorn ceiling, wallpaper, and old Linoleum, I would be suited up. Pure mess and hard labor. I admire you in doing the wallpaper yourself. After you get the remaining wallpaper and paste off, please read all the advice you can. Don’t take shortcuts. Measure each piece and angle because few walls meet the ceiling or floors at exactly right angles, which means something is going to slope. Let the paper cure a few days before you hang any pictures. Follow directions exactly. Best wishes ☺️
