Buy or Build a white picket fence, privacy fence or make a wooden box, probably huge, with an open top and one side for ventilation.

  • Bushes or lattice fencing

How much space is available? Do setback requirements limit your plantings / construction?

Whatever you do, consult the manufacturer to allow proper access when maintaining the unit!

no setback requirements as I am far from the road. The generator is situated the minimum 8 feet from the side of the house. Looking perhaps for some type of fencing (on a budget) that would also help prevent from snow covering the intake. (Lots of snow in NH)

I might set up a few posts with lattice between... then plant a climbing vine or grapes... if the unit needs heavy service, it can easily be ripped out.

Great options! Having read the article about generators here , I think the main advantage of using a generator is that it can keep my electronic devices charged and I have water and heating in my house during a power outage. I've already bought it but didn't find a solution to hide it. So, thanks for the ideas!
