Too early, if you are up north. The cold temps and snow are too much for small plants Wait til there is no danger of frost, and the soil has warmed a bit

    Hi Rick,

I'm from the area close to where Kate is. Here we don't plant until around Memorial Day. Hope that helps.

Where do you live. You usually plant seeds when the ground warms up ( no frost) . Your seed packet will have that info. As for plants, wait until the temperature at night is warm or you will kill your plants.

Hello Rick! The best thing you can do is refer to the USDA plant hardiness zone map that tells you what zone of the country you are in and the zones designate which types of plants that you can plant and at what time of the year. Click on the link below to access the map. Is very helpful to gardeners. Good Luck!

Rick I’m closer to hwy 151 here in iowa. Bit north of you...with this weird weird weather pattern it’s a wait and see. don’t set them out until the temps hit the 60’s. And get them in if the temp drops.

Hi Rick! I also live in Iowa. The weather is good today and will be on Thursday and Friday, but it is supposed to be super cold on Sunday. Don't plant yet. You can start them in starter containers though and move them inside during cold weather.
