I need attractive curb appeal ideas, on a budget.

We have a fairly big front yard, but no curb appeal. I have a light, lamp post, and a wanttobe flower bed, minus the flowers. We have some brick borders that we picked up at a yard sale, but now don't have the health to do the work. So is there an easy way to add the brick landscaping to our yard with little digging? I am excited to see the yard put in great shape, but not sure what direction to go in. I can't spend a bunch of money, but want an attractive welcoming appealing front yard. we have a few green plants, nothing colorful. Any periannuals suggestions I need color. neither of us is in great health, that's why the border bricks have not gone down yet. Thanks for your help. Your DIY projects are very inspirational. Lots of stuff I want to try. I have a table and two chairs out front, I love the Sun/Moon look, so I want to paint that on my table. it was a hand-me-down, with a missing umbrella, so I'm going to try to paint it. Wish me luck! Thank you

Use the bricks to make an edge by Planting them in the ground 1/2 way on an angle or lay them flat and make a low edge wall without mortar. Add Hanging baskets to your Lamp post if possible and go down to your local Plant sale or garden centre to pick up perennials cheaply.\pop in a few Geraniums too. Enjoy your project. I can just see you sitting out admiring your handiwork.............

First, figure out where you want your flower beds. Put in your brick borders. Put a brick border around the lamp post so that you can have the same flowers around it, too. I would get some evergreen shrubs and some flowering shrubs. Put flowers around them. You can do annuals this year (they are a lot cheaper). Make sure that you slope the ground away from the house, you don't want a water problem. Do things as money becomes available. Everything you do will make it a little better. Check with your local nurseries for what grows best in your area. Keep an eye out for sales at the nurseries and big box stores and shop when what you want is on sale. Good luck with your garden and happy planting! Here is a no dig brick border.

you could add some yard decor also, since you said digging may be difficult due to your health! craft stores sell decor for the yard, yard flags . Here is a link for the yard flags! https://www.discountdecorativeflags.com/garden-flags?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1r6_74Ox2gIVhrbACh3_lAmhEAAYASAAEgIoVvD_BwE

Try contacting the High School, College, FFA Group, Boy Scouts or church youth groups for help putting your yard together. If they do it as a project they can get credit for it. At least you could get your bricks in and, if you have them, dig in or plant your perennials. Some low-maintenance perennials include: Lilies of the valley, daffodils, tulips, dahlias, gladiolas, columbine, poppies and marigolds. You could plant an ornamental grape vine beside your light and/or lamppost and let them vine up.

    1. In the wannabe flower bed, put in a large planter and in the planter use a fountain grass and other flowers of your choice. Then plant potato vine around the planter. The vine will come back year after year and you can change out what's in the planter as you like.
    2. For the bricks, find where you want to use them and use a weed eater to go down as far to the dirt as possible. Use grass kill on the grass that't left and put down a layer of newspaper. Lay the bricks down. Until you can either have someone do the rest of the planting, just put in newspaper and mulch and use containers of flowers. It will look very nice and you can use any bright flowers you want.

Be careful of vines, they may look nice for a while, but can be very invasive and hard to control.

I agree, Bijous_2010 was suggesting vines. I don't like them and since Ronald Fox is having health issues, he doesn't need vines all over causing problems.

Plant a couple perennials around your light pole and then put some of the bricks around it to make it look nice and neat. You could do the same around the trees. Store the rest of your bricks until you feel better. Put a pretty annual in a pot to put on top of your newly painted table. Then top off your porch by installing a US flag.
