How long does one need to wait for fresh cut wood to "cure" ?

We unfortunately had a very large tree uproot during the recent storm. When the tree folks were here to clear it away I had them save me 3 large rounds for future use, perhaps a table. How long does one need to wait for fresh cut wood such as this to "cure" before it can be re-purposed? (the tree was quite healthy and just up-rooted due to the severe high winds we had, so it is FRESH!!)

Hello. I would let them sit for a year.
At least a year, I would make sure that it gets plenty of sun and air circulation. If it needs to be cut down to use it for the table or whatever you decide to do with it, now would be the time and it may not take as long to dry out for you.
A year without exposure to rain. Try to find a place at least 10 ft. away from your house or out buildings because of threat of termites.
If you cut it up into project sized pieces it will dry a little quicker. Here are some helpful tips and fun facts.
