i have a large galvanized tub I use for plants but I need to drill some drainage holes. Do I need a special drill bit for this? Thanks!
Regular Styrofoam peanuts, not the ones that dissolve.
you can also use bubble wrap.
Some people use empty soda and water bottles. If planting edibles, I wouldn't use anything unless it was organic.
Am I the only one that fills the pots up all the way with potting soil?
I use river rock.
If your pot or planter box is large I have used empty pop cans so I don't have to use so much soil...plants do well.
I have used pinecones for filler.
I have used coffee filters or coir or a piece of cardboard.
I use a coffee filer at the bottom, then Styrofoam.
Small pebbles to help with drainage.
