Can I use glue instead of morter to make a glass marble backsplash?

I want to make a backsplash in my kitchen behind the sink. I rent so I want to make it light weight and removable. I would like to glue glass marbles to a piece of plexy glass. Will this work? If so what kind of glue will hold the marbles securely?

I think Gorilla Glue would hold marbles on to plexi glass. Are you planning to put grout on too? I wouldn't exactly call this light weight, but it can be made to be removable. How are you planning to attach it to the wall?

  Is grout a heavy product? I can grout it but I want a board that I can lift out and remove if necessary.
