I hate to dust! As soon as I clean things off, a film of dust reappears. Do air filters decrease this?

Have vents vacuumed? I hear it helps for allergies too.

Hi Marsha. I have really bad allergies and run air cleaners. They do help. You will still have some dust but they do reduce the amount. Also check your furnace filter. Sometimes they can be very dirty and not collecting dust if they need to be replaced.

I vacuum regularly... sometimes dust gets kicked up from them. I have an Air Purifier with True HEPA Filter, UV-C Sanitizer, Captures Allergens, Smoke, Odors, Mold, Dust, Germs, Pets, Smokers. It's amazing how much dust in trapped in the filters!

Everything helps keep dust down, you just have to do some detective work! Air filters (the kind in your AC/heating system) need to be cleaned or replaced as often as they are filled. If you have an AC system, use the best filters you can afford. BUT, that's only one way. Make sure your windows seal. If they don't use weatherstripping or caulk as necessary. Same for exterior doors. Do you have a chimney? Make sure the flue is closed.

Standing room air filters DO work, but they require similar maintenance. If it's just dust that bothers you and not allergies, then set it up in a room that's dusty. For allergies, I use one in my bedroom. Make sure you keep it on the ionic setting if you're using it for allergies. Cheers!

Check your air filters on the furnace/air conditioner unit. You can also put a cheesecloth in the vents, right at the cover, to help catch dust the filters miss. Make sure windows and doors are sealed properly

If you have forced air heat with registers on the walls or floors, you will have filters on your heater. These have to be changed every 1-3 months (depending on the brand you buy). This will help a lot.
