How to cover or beautify a dip or hole in your lawn

I need to figure out a way to beautify the front lawn in an area where the grass will not grow and there is a hole there that retains water when it rains. Can I use mulch to make a design after filling it with more dirt? Help Please

put a ornamental rock there
I might fill with some rocks and then garden soil. then try to add grass seed or some ornamental grasses.
We have such a similar low area where a drain goes under our driveway. Some attractive rocks either large rocks or those attractive smooth elliptical river rock might be the best choice, mulches and even pea gravel can float with rain water travel.
Rocks in this area help hold down soil and prevent erosion, even when water in “drain tunnel” backs up.
