I once had a really heavy vinyl/resin one that I bought at Sears for around a hundred collars (it's probably a little more now). It held rakes and lots of other stuff. You might compare the cost of something like this with the cost of building one and the time involved.
That's dollars -- don't think they accept "collars" for purchases.
Our neighbor bought a kit from Menards. It looks like a hip-roofed barn. The walls are tall enough to hang rakes, shovels, hoes, etc.; and the floor space is large enough to store a riding lawn mower, snow blower and garden tiller with enough room left over for dismantled beds, etc.
My husband used pallets to build ours after building a solid floor. AFter putting up the walls, he put tin over the pallets and added a sliding door. We have a simple plan with no windows and just walls and roof. It holds all our tools very well.
