I need to build stairs going up to the loft in my 16x32 home..help??

Doesn't look like code is an issue where you are? I would consider a ship style ladder that has the handrails built into the runners. The attic ladders tend to be wobbly over time, don't seem to hold the weight they are rated for. Some pitch is needed to feel comfortable going up and down. Are their young children that you need to be concerned for their safety? Europeans have some options that I have not seen in the states. There seem to be a million options depending on the look, convenience, the persons that will be using the sleeping loft.

I'm not sure what a ship style ladder is? My grandkids will b using the loft also when they r here..I am open for any options ..different is usually what I like anyway

Ship's Ladder has grip handles up both sides---you go up and come down in the same position. Since the ladder will be out in the room, you could create a decorative shelf behind the sides--or box it in for storage. Use sturdy wood on the shelves to give extra foot space when climbing (lacking on those attic ladders). Watch and Google tiny homes and treehouses for ideas on ladders for the loft. I've seen staircases with drawers for more storage.

If you want to save space you might consider one of those metal spiral staircases.

If you do not want to take up floor space, why not try a ladder that you can raise and lower when needed? Chip & Joanna Gaines did one that turned out pretty neat.

If you start at the back wall and make an ‘L’ shaped staircase it will come in at the back of the bedroom and not take up space out in the main area.

Start with a couple steps, the landing in the corner, then run your steps up to the loft. This is also totally full of storage space!

Look at some tiny house build videos. They built stairs at different heights and made them able to be used as storage boxes too. there are some great ones on YouTube
