You have a good neutral color to work with! It will work with just about any color. I would search for painted kitchen cabinets right here on Hometalk to see which completed project colors suit your taste.

Thanks! I will do that now. I have made boards of slate blue (Storm Cloud) and Revere pewter to audition on my island where the North light is strongest. It is a Corian from 80's, and I am only guessing at the color name. It looks dirty next to most of the colors that are "off-white" suggestions for cabinets.

I am seriously drawn to "black" as there is charcoal-y dark brown in the floor tiles. Also Tuscan brick colors and lightish grays. I am trying to transition with paint rather than change the counters. I found a large subway tile in a changeable gray, glossy for the backsplash; but rather than buy it now, I want to explore the cabinet paint colors. The present backsplash is a matchy/matchy almond with pink overtones. My oak cabinets need to be painted, and I began with painting the island Revere Pewter. It is not bad, with the new ORB pulls and handles, but there is a discrepancy between the beiges.
