How to fill in space above kitchen cabinets?

My cabinets were enclosed all around the ceiling. I removed the sheetrock because I wanted them open. Thought about putting up lattice with vines running through it. Now not so sure !! Any idea from the minds at Hometalk would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Jean Miller

Well, I think it depends on the look you’re going for. I like antique type things and I have used things like old tins, pretty plates, coffee grinders, baskets, pretty tea pots, bottles, antique crocks. I like to put little whit’s Christmas lights through the collection so it has a nice glow & sparkles through any pottery or glass up there.

You could go for a contemporary look by blowing up black and white photography and making them into box pictures of different sizes and then add some things that go with the theme, like if it was buildings in the pictures add industrial looking elements etc.
