How do you keep squirrels out of your flower pots?

They are digging up and destroying my plants.

    We put large river stones in our pots to discourage them. They could not get through. Then we also used bait with our strategy by putting out free peanuts in a hubcap we nailed to a fence post. They left our pots alone after that :) Hope this helps

    Lay chicken wire or plant stakes just under the dirt. The idea with laying chicken wire or garden stakes (upside down) in your containers is that it prevents squirrels from being able to dig. Thus no holes in your pots where they have tried to bury food plus they can't get to your flowers to dig them up.

  • Feed them peanuts! They also get into the bird feeders, but the dogs chase them off.
