I live in a manufacture home where the cabinets are paper covered. The finish has rubbed off to plain white where I open the drawers and cupboards. They are pressboard with wood grain contact paper on them which is standard I believe in manufactured homes. The doors and drawer fronts are actual wood. How to refinish?

Peel the paper off the cabinets, remove the paste, and paint them.
I had the same problem with mine. Get some furniture touch up crayons in the color of your cabinets. Color over the white areas and feather the color out so it blends well. Then paint a clear satin polyurethane over the area you colored. That should work. This is happening from fingernails scratching the vinyl while opening the cabinets and drawers. Installing knobs and pulls will fix that.
