  • If it is no longer brewing, the heating element or pump might be burned out with age.

This is not an old coffee maker. The person says it was bought in May of this year. So age is not the issue.

Put your coffee maker through one cycle with a mix of 1 cup of vinegar and water. Repeat with a cycle of just water.

Exactly! I’m not sure how people expect that running a cleaning cycle will help solve this problem when the machine WILL NOT DRIP.

We bought this machine in May (2020), this is the second time it has refused to brew. We push the button to brew, machine beeps, hesitates a split second and then beeps again to signal the end of the brew cycle. However, nothing has happened. Don’t ask me how it started brewing again last time this happened, we have no idea.

Its very frustrating when money is spent on a brand and product that used to be completely reliable, but is no longer.

      Boo, Mr Coffee, Boo!!

Here is a site with troubleshooting steps:

If none of these steps helps, it may be time to upgrade. These appliances were not intended to be serviceable. There are several choices of coffee makers available at Walmart for under $20.

    Here are 3 different possibilities.

Adequate Water Supply. Your Mr. Coffee Maker will not work without water. Open the top lid of the coffee maker and check that there is enough water to brew yourcoffee. Additionally, there is a water-level gauge on the front side of the pot that displays the water in the machine.

On my 4 cup Mr. Coffee, one of two thermal cutoff fuses is open. If either/both of those fuses is open, no power will reach the heating element and the water won't boil nor will the warming plate feel hot even if the power switch is lit.

They can be checked with an ohmmeter/continuity tester.

The thermal elements are accessible by removing the plastic cover on the bottom.

Probably the thermo cut-off device is stuck in "open" condition a safety component used to prevent over heating and potential fire. It's in the internal wiring to monitor the temperature where the water is brought up to boiling. It triggers every time as you finish brewing, to cut the flow of electricity to the heating coil. It now must be replaced which an experienced do-it-yourselfer can do, but you must find the right temperature "thermo-disc" (usually rated to open at about 220F/105C) to wire in. Unfortunately I've never seen one with a simple plugin feature. This is NOT an uncommon problem as a coffeemaker ages.

Bought mine at Wal-Mart in February of last year. Still lights up but no heat and no brew.
