Hi. I saw some beautiful (and simple) wall sconces using food containers (glass jars) and branches on wood planks. On the same note, you could take branches and adhere to large strips of bark. (These work for rugged/outdoors decor.) If you want a seaside/beach theme, starfish and/or sand dollars attached to driftwood (or slabs of wood you make appear to be driftwood or pieces of boats) could be nice.

Pick up from thrift stores etc. Wall Up lights and remove the electrics........ Another idea would be to utilize strong plastic containers - cut to shape and make holes in back to take screws.
