What is most economic way to put a gazebo over grass?

Do I dig up grass but do want a 13x13 area reserved for this on north side of my property. Is there something I can afford to lay on top of grass, budget wise? Please advise and thank you?

Not sure I understand your question. Do you want to kill the grass? If so, cover the area with several layers of newspaper or cardboard. Not very attractive but it is cheap. This will eliminate sunlight and the grass will die. Another option is to put down tar paper over the grass. That will kill it, too. You could also kill the grass with a grass killing spray. This takes about 2 to 4 weeks. Rake up the dead grass. You will not need to remove the roots because they will be dead, too.

Newspaper is cheap and stops weeds.

If you remove the grass, put a weed barrier down when you cover the soil up, it will stop stuff from growing back. No weeding!

If I kill down to the roots what can I replace over that area so I can place my gazabo over that area...something level besides concrete which may be costly.

.I may do this by adding 2... 9x12 Outdoor Reversible Patio/RV Mat —

They say easy to clean first of all. I may use this should I want to move gazebo or store it away with
