A Broken Retro Radio Cabinet Gets Its Groove Back

I could not pass up this retro radio cabinet when I saw it in the thrift store. It was a great price, but it had a lot of bumps, bruises and broken parts that didn't make it appealing to a lot of people. I still saw potential.
The drawers in the middle of the cabinet were all torn out inside, but the original hardware was still in tact.
The original radio face was still in the cabinet, but the rest of the radio in back was torn out.
The speaker fabric was not worn or torn so I decided to leave that and paint the cabinet a color that would highlight the great things this radio cabinet still had going for it.
First, I painted the entire piece in {aff} BOSS from Dixie Belle Paint. This preps a piece like this for paint so there is no bleed-through.
Then, I painted the cabinet in {aff} "Caviar" from Dixie Belle Paint. This color is a beautiful matte black and it really did bring out the hardware and speaker on the front of the cabinet.
The retro radio cabinet now has its groove back! I didn't do anything with the inside of the cabinet. I wanted to leave that original. There was still a story there. There is storage in the left side of the cabinet. This piece could be used for so many things and in so many different spaces.
