Anyone ever recycle old super 8mm reels and covers?

I transferred my little super 8 movies into DVD and now have a bunch of the movie reels and their covers. Hate to toss if anyone has a great way to upcycle them?

nuts and bolts, in the garage. Sewing and craft supplies.
Try making a wind chime out of them. Paint them bright colors and hang on a tree.
