so it has to be hair or product build-up, so I've never had a problem using drano (or like product) for hair. In fact, with my curly, thick hair I do it every other month to keep things running smoothly. If this does not work, a drain pull (my word, it's a plastic thingy with a hook you stick down there) does a great job.

Get one of those little plastic hair grabbers with barbs on them, they are really cheap and last a long time. Take all the hair out that it will bring up. Once that is done, put about half a cup of baking soda down the drain and follow it with at least a cup of vinegar. Let that fizz for ten or fifteen minutes and follow that with a gallon of boiling water to wash all the gunk down that is loosened up. That should open the drain. If it doesn't, try it again. If that doesn't work, you may have a blockage further down the drain that would need to be removed by a snake. Hope this works for you!
