How do I get rid of gophers?

My neighbor does not maintain their yard. They have gopher mounts everywhere. They have moved into my yard. I have tried smoke bombs, poison pellets, and dish soap with water. Help!

I will be watching for any answers that might actually help. Gophers are resourceful little critters. I have actually watched them pull a plant into their hole while I sat within three feet of it! Because I have pets I will not use poisons (which gophers seem brilliant at avoiding anyway). Someone told me that putting pool cleaning chloride pods into their holes will help. My soil is so sandy, however, that even finding a hole is difficult. Now, anything I plant goes into a "gopher basket" first. A bit costly, but not as expensive as losing the plant entirely. Best of luck with this and I'm sure you and I are not the only people looking for answers to this!
TThe only true way is a trap. I had a lawn service tell me that -that is the only way. Other stuff may deter them but just will not get rid of them.
I considered hiring a service. He took one look at the neighbors yard, and said he can't eradicate them at my house. As long as the neighbor is not dealing with her problem. They are breeding at her house....I can trap away....they will just keep coming back I am afraid.
I know moles go where the food is after we treat our yard for bugs we don’t have any more tunnel. The stuff we use is put out by bayer.
