I have seen a tutorial where the lettering was printed out onto paper, then covered with clear packing tape, dropped into a cup or pan with warm water. Pull off the paper from the packing tape, leaving the printing on the sticky part of the tape, and adhere the tape to your glass!
Glass etching cream works well also, any craft store should have it
