No! You should wait 4-6 months for the wood to dry out.
NO! Wait at least 6 months for the wood to fully dry out. It may appear dry on the surface but the chemicals are still active internally. Too soon and the paint will peel.

You are best to put a transparent stain on the wood if you have to. Do not use latex as it will eventually crack and peel.
