Gnome village pond

I used an oval platter painted with primer and textured paint to resemble sand. I then glued glass marbles to resemble the water. I was thinking about pouring in some Mod Podge to fill in between the marbles. Will it hold up to being outdoors in the sun?

    Hi Lou,

There is an outdoor version of Mod Podge, but I think you'd be better off using a polycrylic sealer, marine sealer or a resin. The only problem that I see is that there is no real edge, so anything that is liquid will seep through the marbles onto the platter edge. If you're going to cover that part, it might not be a problem, but it's something to think about. I hope that helps. Wishing you the best. .

Try some colored grout and some spray sealer. Would make a pretty birdbath

Great idea, I didn't think about grout. Thanks

Thanks, my thought also about water getting in so I want to seal the marbles in.
