My 16 year old has taken the love of doing hair. First it started as a hobby she would nag friends to allow her to practice. Then it grew into a career. All of her friends from school was chasing her down to do their hair. And to top it off she uses her bedroom to beautiful her clients. So I wanted to surprise her, but I couldn't... I had to work on her terms. This is probably her last year in this room doing hair before she is off to beauty school, and since I have not updated her bedroom since she was 6 or 7 years old. I thought she could use a hand getting organized, decluttering and beautifying for her comfort as well as her clients.
This is definitely the after photo. I wanted to start here on the next image I will share the before bedroom image.
This is so cute right, but can you see the difference. One definitely says preteen right. So at 16 sleeping in a room that looks like this ... she definitely needed the change. So the first thing was to paint the room of course.
To decluter and get her hair care products organized, I added under the bed storage.
I remove the carpet and replaced it with linoleum and I added under the bed storage for all her hair care products.
I shopped my house for items that I no longer used. You know a corner table it used to be silver, a stool that used to be silver, and the other one came out of my closet it used to be brass, with a can of gold rustoeleum and a yard of fabric from Joann fabric store I did a cool upcycle, that i think complimented her room and made it functional for different uses and work stations.
And after a fresh coat of paint, hanging mirrors, making a lamp buying new bedding, I come up with this beautiful room... To see more please see the video which will be below.
