What to do about flooding at front of house and sidewalks?
Front of house is stone with lots of water.
If you want to go back with shrubs, go with bright flowering shrubs or shrubs with bright showy leaf color. Plant annuals that are bright and will show above the rock edging along the edges and filling in the empty areas. With annuals you will be able to try different colors and heights until you find what look you want.
Depends on your light but here are a few suggestions: Hibiscus, Hydrangea, a clematis on a trellis, grasses.
Full sunlight all day long...
You could use tall plant holders then put Daphne in one & a miniture Rose bush in the other one.
Why not have a change and put up Shutters on the windows and Window Boxes. You could also put in Evergreen shrubs under in border..........
How about making pockets of earth in the surrounding wall and growing Alpines? I have 2 sweet smelling Azaleas (need acid soil), you could grow them in containers.
shutters would be cute. What color tho on the brick????
Your house is cute..I agree above some shutters .I can't see the rest of the but maybe white wash the brick. Your options for garden pop are great depending on how much maintenance you want!😊
It would look nice to bring the rock edging out further in a circle at the corner. Then put something tall there like a dogwood tree or evergreen tree.
Maybe something climbing where the bush is and the shutters with window boxes....keep the stone wall - maybe creeping phlox in it.
awesome help and awesome ideas! Thank you. I am going to look into shutters, am thinking of getting a trellis for under windows and have something right climb up like Clematis.... and/or something else with color. Then in front of trellis some colorful bush, but not sure what one yet. Not sure what color shutters either. Red/White or Black... lol decisions!
Glad you agree.......
Knock out roses or even one of the small decorative trees, or maybe a Japanese maple. You could even use a small spotlight with the trees.
