Surrounded by Roses

We moved to a small rural town 10 years ago. We were looking for a fixer-upper. The last house we looked at hadn't been on the market yet, the realtor had just got the listing so she didn't have the keys yet. We walked round the house looked through the windows, When I saw this large La Marne rose by the front porch, I knew we were home. We discovered some roses growing wild in the garden, added roses from our previous home, were blessed with a number of pass-along roses and added some favorites...right now most of the roses are blooming...I love being surrounded by roses in our garden. These are some of the roses that are blooming now in our garden.
The La Marne at the front porch stands over 7 ft tall.
We live on a corner hill and this wall elevates the sidewalk from the street. I love this beautiful diminutive rose cascading over the wall.
Growing David Austin roses in the south is not easy. They require diligent care, but they're worth it.
There are two smaller La Marne roses growing in the eastside garden
This Memorial Day rose grows large and is beautifully fragrant
One of the roses growing wildly in our garden was the Pink Dawn. I've trained two to grow on rose arbors.
This White Dawn was a pass-along rose, one among many from a gardener that decided she no longer wanted roses in her garden. We happily adopted them!
Knockout roses are such a blessing to a rose loving gardener - they perform all summer and are easy to grow.
I love this prolific, fragrant rose. I believe it is an old favorite in this area. I see it growing wildly where old homes once stood.
