New Paint!! ...can transform a whole room!
Decluttering makes a huge difference if you are trying to sell your home. Neutral colors on the walls. Updating light fixtures in every room can also help. New handles on cabinetry. Painting cabinets.
Small changes, such as updating cabinet knobs, faucets, lighting, new paint and especially decluttering. Any updates you decide on should match the style of your house. For example, wood ceiling beams can add architectural detail, but are not a good choice if your ceilings are low. Colors should coordinate throughout, especially in adjacent rooms. Choose a front door color and accessorize with pots, plants, porch wall décor and a door mat. Changing flooring, especially tired carpet, can give a home a big lift but is fairly pricy. If you only change out some flooring, try to maintain continuity from room to room and avoid jarring flooring changes. Good Luck!
Crown molding can really make a room. If you are able to diy, it's not very expensive. Molding around windows, floors etc.
Interior?
I like impressive art.
I would put some artwork.
It doesnt have to be expensive.
Consider consignment shops estate sales garage sales and even thrift stores for artwork or even the frames only— that you can put your own artwork or photography in.
Attractive Front Garden always give Kerb Appeal and Fresh Paint - Clean sparking windows and a Welcome Mat......OOh I forgot - a Big Smile . and a nice smell too..........
Get rid of all the clutter have a place for everything, put seasonal things away and rotate every 3 months or so.
Are you wanting to sell your place? Your realtor can tell you what needs done, and what can be left alone.
Some great curb appeal boosters are landscaping( I love houses that have walkways lined with grasses), a ac unit cover( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mp1Gv4VuoA), or shutters (you can diy shutters).
Thank you.. good idea!
lighting is extremely important. On gloomy Maine days (way too many of them lately) I turn the lamps in corners on. That makes the rooms look larger. Flowers are wonderful and we find lilies last very long and smell wonderful. Nicely styled table tops and mantelpieces. Nicely swept entry. Order. A place for people to hang their coats. Always have refreshments on hand to offer people who drop by. Collect candles, candle and firelight are very inexpensive and really add to the ambiance.
Planters with flowers, welcome mat, nice lanterns
