I want to revamp my small kitchen and use the non working diswasher space for storage.

I would like to store pots and pans or plastic containers here, since the dishwasher doesn't work
I would use white, off white or light yellow. These colors will help the kitchen feel bigger. Dark colors close in.

I would do the uppers white or some very pale shade of your favorite color, then you could paint the lowers dark to make them recede and stay cleaner.
