How old is to old to stain a treated deck?

    Is the deck cracked or falling apart

    • It's 12 yrs old, one rail has pulled away from the post it was nailed too closest to the house and maybe one board needs to be replaced. Thanks for answering.

    Hi Carolyn, as long as you can power wash it without it falling a part before you stain it then you're probably good to go!

    wash it sand anything sticking up or rough then stain

    We replace ( rotted split) boards as needed and restain as needed.

    It's never to old to learn something new or to stain a deck:)-just prep it first with a good cleaning.

    As long as it is structu rally sound by that I mean no holes cracking warping etc.it's worth the effort to redo the finish..now if you're afraid to go out on the deck in your Bare feet or you wouldn't want a little one down there to play may be time to replace. I wore out 2 Sanders one had my fingerprints embedded in the handle when it blew out! Good luck share a pic! Try to keep hydrated while you're working take care ❤ char

    All great suggestions. When it starts to fall apart is when it's too old. When repairs can no longer keep it together.
