I would suggest you go to your local nursery and ask what they suggest. I don't know what will grow in your area. Here, I would suggest shrubs that are red to add color. Some perennials in reds, yellows and pinks would also look great.

Add flowers in the pots all around as well as wild flowers and butterfly plants that blooms.

Take these photos to your local nursery and ask for their opinion since they only carry plants that are guaranteed to grow in your region.

Could grown Garden Chrysanths.....or Dogwood would give you coloured branches in winter.

There are winter blooming camellias and a few winter blooming rhododendrons. You could also try some of the little shrubs that have red branches when they are bare...they can be very colorful. Garden art and colorful pots with evergreen plants are also a way to add color In the winter months.

If you plant native plants you will attract pollinators like butterflies and bees plus native are less maintenance. Other people have suggested you visit your local nursery or farm bureau they can tell you what will grow in your area.

I apologize if my answer eventually shows up twice, I didn't see it so I answered again...

I saw the pictures of your landscape and instantly had great visions for beautifying your backyard. I thought of Crepe Myrtles which come in a range of colors, as well as Knock Out Roses. You can Google images to see how georgeous they are. I agree with another post in going to a Nursery, also go to Home Depot or Lowe's for recommendations. They have a great policy that if your plant dies within 12 months you can return it (with your receipt) for something else.
