DO NOT USE ANY OF THE DECK OVER PRODUCTS. They crack and peel within two years. Some people had to replace deck boards and even replace complete decks. There are class action lawsuits against the manufacturers. Notice the products are no longer advertised.

  • There are several brands - Behr is one of them. The key is good prep before painting.

I’m having to replace my whole deck after using Lowe’s Deck paint. I prepped the deck well and let it dry. It’s been painted 3 times in 9 years. I’ve had to patch cracks up, sand the deck prime then paint. It’s been a real pain in the butt. I’m going with the trex composite deck. It’s expensive but I can’t see putting any more money into treated wood And paint and lots of labor. My contractor friend said the key to a good deck is to let the wood dry out for 6 months to a year before you put it on a deck. I haven’t heard anything good about any of the deckover products.
